Hello ArtLovers!
I wanted to share this amazing virtual visit with you as my first post on the new LaDara Fine Art Blog.
I was invited to be a part of the Black History Month curriculum for Ms. Jacobs’s Kindergarten class at Douglas Magnet Elementary School in Raleigh, NC. I was so happy to meet all of their smiling faces via Zoom.
These lovely kindergartener’s already had their questions prepared which gave me plenty of time to come up with thoughtful art-related answers. Although, I don’t consider myself to be Black History, yet, (lol) I was grateful for this opportunity to speak with some future artists!!
After our talk, some of the students did an art activity that was inspired by my artwork. (What an honor!) This vibrant, abstract art piece was created using acrylic paints and includes my signature gestural brushstrokes.
I love how the students used blended colors, layers, and made big bold brushstrokes across their canvases. Take a look!
This was such a great experience! #ILoveKindergarteners
